Random Pictures of November

Time to post some random pictures of New York City and the surrounding area once again.  This is an interesting time to take pictures in the city, as taking a snapshot of a moment in time and then looking back on it forces one to realize that the passage of time marches on, and that the warmth of summer is transitioning to the cold grasp of winter's frigid hand.

Brooklyn captured on a beautiful Fall day.

The trees in Central Park remind us all that summer has gone and that winter is just around the corner.  Everyone had better take advantage of the nice days while they can, because snow, wind, and cold temperatures are just around the corner.

Dinosaur at the Museum of Natural History

I took this cool picture at New York City's Museum of Natural History, and I have to say that I think it is very cool looking.  I do not think it matter how old you get, there is something fascinating about the thoughts of dinosaurs roaming the Earth.  Their sheer size is enough to leave people in awe, and their demise is a mystery that still raises a lot of questions.

Personally, I'm a fan of the meteor striking the Earth, raising a cloud of dust, etc theory, because I think it makes the most sense.  However, after some geology courses, it could have been something as simple as shifting poles or an Ice Age that led to the disappearance of dinosaurs.

Where is H.G. Wells' time machine when you need a question answered?  Then again, knowing me, I would probably travel back in time only to be stepped on the moment I arrived.

Seen in NYC on 6th Avenue...

This little fountain, located on 6th Avenue a little north of 53rd Street, really made my day on Saturday as I was headed to Niketown.  It looks like a giant dandelion, and the wind was blowing perfectly as the sun shown down upon us.

The Blaq List...

We thought you would enjoy this picture of the Blaq List ad.  Do you know where it was taken in NYC?  If you cannot recognize this happening area, then you might want to go walk around the Times Square area and get a little more familiar with this top tourist attraction.

Someone Is Mad at Pete In New York City!

I do not know what Pete did, but I feel bad for the guy.  Someone really does not like him.

All of that aside though, I passed this van today while walking on East 6th Street, and was stunned by the sheet amount of graffiti all over it.  Any individual piece might have been considered nothing special, but combined they turn this plain white van into a piece of art on wheels.  If you are out walking in the East Village, make sure to keep an eye out for this cool vehicle.

Press Lounge Rooftop - NYC

This picture is from a party at the Press Lounge, located on top of the Ink48 hotel (653 11th Avenue at 48th Street).  As you can see, this is an incredible spot to have drinks, and the wading pool on the rooftop combined with the beautiful Manhattan skyline make for an unforgettable experience.

The Statue of Liberty at Sunset

This picture was taken while onboard a schooner cruise, as we circled Ellis Island at sunset.

The beauty of Lady Liberty is only heightened when you think about how much seeing her meant to so many people as they first arrived in the United States of America.
